Born Again

I have to be honest. I struggled writing this post.  First of all, so many amazing things happened on this trip that to try and fit them into a paragraph would be nearly impossible. And second, I have found that sometimes there are no words to describe the magnificent works of a magnificent God. Considering all of this, I decided to share one of the most pivotal and exciting moments of my life... my baptism. It had been on my heart for quite some time. The event in which I could experience the representation of the washing away of my sins and a public declaration of my love for Jesus Christ, my savior.  But every opportunity that came about did not feel right. I wanted to know that God was on my side and that it was in His timing. When I was asked, out of the blue, if I had been baptized, it took me by surprise. But when the question arose if it was that time, there was no my question in my mind. I was quickly overcome with a sense of peace and joy, "Yes, " He said, "It is time."

Two days later I was sharing my testimony which God had promised at the beginning of the week would be special (unknowing to me that it would be followed by my baptism), followed by being carried to the water. As I waded through the water, my brothers and sisters in Christ sang Holy Spirit. Down and under I went only to break the water with the sound of cheering and rejoicing in the Lord. "Born again, " I whispered to myself, "Born again." I am one with Christ. He is my Lord and Savior. Listen when He speaks. I promise it will be life changing.

"John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Luke 3:16
